Robert will review his experiences with Arlington’s
Economic Development during a down economic period and Arlington was able to
move forward where many entrenched. Now, as Fort Worth’s New Economic
Development Manager, he will take a look at the future this city and discuss
how Fort Worth and the Tarrant County area will proceed into this every
changing business environment and how those changes will affect our lives.

Robert Sturns serves as the Economic
Development Manager for the City of Fort Worth where he works to negotiate
terms and structure economic development program agreements for real estate
projects throughout the City.Prior to his current position, he was the Economic Development Manager
for the City of Arlington.He also
holds the designation of Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) from
the National Development Council.
Active in the community, he is a
past board member of the Van Zandt Southwest YMCA, McDonald YMCA, Fort Worth
Economic Development Corporation, William Mann Community Development
Corporation and Cancer Care Services.He is a member of the Texas Economic Development Council, the Urban Land
Institute and Leadership Fort Worth.Past and present volunteer activities include the National Forum for
Black Public Administrators, The Women’s Center of Fort Worth, Child Advocates
of Tarrant County, Fort Worth ISD and the United Way.
Mr.
Sturns holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas Christian
University and a Bachelor of Arts from Stephen F. Austin State University.
