Biography
April Foran serves as director of Corporate Communications and Public Information Officer for Parkland Health & Hospital System, one of the largest public hospitals in the country. She is the primary spokesperson and oversees communications and marketing activities, such as media relations, publications, crisis communications, advertising and other public relations duties including internal communications activities that reach the nearly 9,000 employees of the hospital system. She and her team have won numerous state and national awards for their publications and PR campaigns. In addition, April is a FEMA-certified health care public information officer.
Prior to her career in health care, April spent nearly 15 years in journalism as editor, reporter and photographer for several newspapers in Texas, California, Ohio and Arizona. April has a bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University and is currently seeking her APR.
Danny DeAtley is the marketing director for AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group, where he leads the development of corporate branding initiatives, communications and media relations programs, as well as online and event marketing. Mr. DeAtley brings more than 10 years of experience to this position. Previously, he served in marketing management roles for a healthcare services company and as senior writer for a monthly technology publication. Mr. DeAtley earned a bachelor's degree in English from Texas A&M University.
Michelle Rider, Regional Marketing Director - TX & OK at UnitedHealthcare. Michelle Rider has over 15 years experience in marketing and management. She has been a leader and helped develop marketing strategies for health and consumer-related Fortune 500 companies including; Abbot Labs, Kaiser Permanente, and Coca-Cola. She has also served as a marketing instructor in the School of Business at the University of California at Berkeley Extension. As Director of Marketing for UnitedHealthcare (TX & OK) she is responsible for the marketing activities for a portfolio of health-related products and services, and supports three CEOs in the Texas market. Rider received her BA in Economics from San Jose State University. She graduated with distinction and received her MBA in Marketing and Management Strategy from the Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University.
In addition to her active corporate role, Rider is an entrepreneur and owner of Inspired Redesign (www.inspiredredesign.com), an interior decorating firm which serves residential and commercial clients. Rider has served in a volunteer capacity for several organizations including as a board member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Marketing Association, and Committee Chair of the Plano School District Key Communicators team. She is currently on the CEO advisory board for the National Black MBA Association. Rider resides in Plano, Texas with her 11-year-old son, Myles.
Huntley McNabb, VP of Marketing at MedSynergies Inc. manages marketing and communications efforts geared towards clients and the marketplace via the Web, direct mail and email, industry trade publications and events. During his career, McNabb has successfully implemented internal and external corporate communications activities, as well as guided global, multi-channel lead generation efforts.
Previously, McNabb was senior director of marketing at Pegasus Solutions Inc., where he led the global marketing team responsible for managing marketing processes and promotional efforts necessary for the company to grow its business. He has also held senior marketing management positions at TRX Inc., and Sabre Inc.
McNabb is a graduate of Rice University in Houston, Texas, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature. He also received his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
