Biography
Dana Williams is Southwest Airlines’ Director of Marketing and Communications and reports to Kevin Krone, Vice President of Marketing. Williams is responsible for Advertising, Sports, Licensing and Multicultural Marketing Departments. Since rejoining Southwest Airlines in January 2009, Williams has been involved in the overseeing the new “Grab Your Bag, It’s On!” campaign as well as developing new internal and external programs for Winning the Customer.
Williams has over 19 years of marketing and management experience including fifteen years at Southwest Airlines in various roles in management positions in In-flight, People and Marketing Departments. Prior to joining Southwest this year, Williams worked as Marketing consultant to Real Estate, Health Care and Non-Profit organizations through her own company, The Branding Solution.
Williams attended University of North Texas where she met and married her husband, Worth. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas State University. She and Worth live in Dallas and have one daughter, Whitney, age 22.
Williams is an Executive Alumni Board member of University of North Texas, a Council for Life Board Member and a Leadership Texas Alumni. In addition, Williams has served on the Southwest Airlines Culture Committee for 10 years.
In July 2008, Ginger Hardage assumed additional responsibility for the Culture aspects at Southwest Airlines from legendary President Emeritus Colleen Barrett. She also oversees all internal and external communications for the largest airline in the United States and is a member of its Executive Planning Committee.
Ginger serves on the advisory board of the Council of Public Relations Firms. She is a past president of the Dallas Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators and a past member of the Southern Methodist University Public Relations Advisory Board and the Texas Tech Rawls College of Business Advisory Board. She previously served on the boards Business Civic Leadership Center, an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers and Sisters of Metropolitan Dallas and Southwest Care. Ginger is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and a graduate of Leadership Texas.
