B2B Marketing: Cutting Through the Clutter

Learn how to execute a marketing program designed to break through the noisy competitive landscape by clearly segmenting various products into proper categories or creating a new category; focusing on applications and end-user benefits (not technology); laying the foundation for a comprehensive program with messages that shift market perception and ultimately result in sales; and rolling out consistent messaging in an integrated marketing program to  include media/analyst relations, advertising, e-media programs (e.g. podcasts), trade shows, lead generation programs, competitive analysis, RFP responses, and direct sales.

Participants will take away:
• Ideas on how to develop an integrated marketing program.
• Concrete examples that illustrate a creative marketing mix to launch a new product or market initiative.

Speaker Julia Pitlik

Julia Pitlik - Senior Director, Marketing Communications

Julia Pitlik is Sr. Director of Marketing for Fujitsu Network Communications.  Pitlik is responsible for leading the communications strategy, advertising, brand, market intelligence and internal and external communications for the North American telecom equipment division of Fujitsu.  She is a key advisor to the executive leadership team and has transformed the marketing effectiveness by driving communications planning, execution and measurement of initiatives and aligning with CEO metrics, increasing the value of marketing to the corporation. In her position with Fujitsu, Pitlik has led the company’s most significant marketing campaign launching the new Fujitsu flagship product, FLASHWAVE® 9500 Packet Optical Networking Platform.  The campaign resulted in the successful definition of a new optical networking product category accepted and reinforced by customers and key industry and financial analysts.

Prior to joining Fujitsu, Pitlik was Vice President of Strategic Planning & Business Development for A NOVO Americas, a global after sales repair & logistics service provider for digital end equipment.  In this position, she was responsible for leading the sales and marketing functions for three lines of business, including Mobile Telecommunications, Consumer Electronics, and Telecommunications Infrastructure.  During her tenure with A NOVO, Pitlik increased account penetration by over 95% and generated opportunities valued at over $6 million/month in revenues and $2 million/month in gross profit with enterprise-level clients.   She also was instrumental in driving cost reductions of 10% through the development and execution of a restructuring plan that included staffing reductions and minimized non-essential business related expenses.

Before joining A NOVO, Pitlik held several executive and senior management positions in business planning and development and marketing with companies, such as XO Communications, Sprint Corporation, Sun Microsystems and Texas Instruments.

While at Sprint Corporation, she transformed the company’s Global Accounts Management program maximizing business growth and retention of select, high-end accounts resulting in $46.5M in sales for the first year.  She also developed Sprint’s first in-currency billing program to address customer requirements for aligning costs more closely with non-US business units by providing a fixed rating and local currency billing in multiple locations.  This program eliminated “bill on behalf of” scenarios with partners providing direct access to Sprint’s retail revenues, thereby increasing shareholder value.

Pitlik is a magna cum laude graduate of Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in public relations and industrial/organizational psychology.

She is based in Richardson, Texas; at the company’s headquarter location for North America.
